St. John’s Public School Marks Independence Day with ‘Har Ghar Tiranga’ Rally and Inter-House Dance Competition 



 St. John’s Public School celebrated the 80th Independence Day with a two-day program filled with patriotism and enthusiasm. As part of the national ‘Har Ghar Tiranga’ campaign, a Tiranga Rally under the guidance of the Principal Rev. Fr. Arun Poulose along with the management was organized on 14th August. Students from all classes, along with teachers and staff, marched through the school campus holding the National Flag and raising slogans like “Har Ghar Tiranga, Har Dil Tiranga” and “Mera Tiranga, Mera Abhimaan”. The rally aimed to spread awareness about hoisting the Tiranga in every home. The main celebrations were held on 15th August. The program began with the hoisting of the National Flag by the Chief Guest, Rev.Fr. Joshua Furtado- Rector Pilar Niketan, followed by the National Anthem. The key event of the day was the Inter-House Group Dance Competition held in Junior and Senior categories and felicitation of Meritorious Students for their outstanding performances in the board examination for the academic year 2025-26. A total of 55 students were honoured with Certificates and mementos. The theme was “Aarohan -A rise of talent, unity, and pride of India”. All four houses participated with great energy and coordination. The competition was judged by Rev.Fr. Jomise Joy Director- Nagpur Archdiocesan Media and Communication and Rev. Sr. Rosily Mondoth- Vice Principal St. Josephs Convent, Kingsway Nagpur. They appreciated the costumes, expressions and patriotic spirit of the students. Green House won the First Prize in both Junior and Senior categories. In his address, Fr. Joshua Furtado urged students to remember the sacrifices of freedom fighters and to contribute to nation-building with honesty and unity. Students also took a pledge to hoist the Tiranga at their homes. The two-day celebration successfully spread the message of unity and national pride
