St. John’s Public School, Nagpur, Maharashtra

A brief history of the school

St. John’s School is a private Roman Catholic English Medium School with co-education in Nagpur, Maharashtra, India. The motto of our school is ‘Empower to Excel’. Situated in the heart of the orange city of Maharashtra, it had a humble beginning in the year 2009. St. Joseph’s Technical Institute, where St. John’s Public School stands now, had its beginning in 1898 and was closed about 100 years later (1997-1999). After about ten years in 2009, it had its rebirth as a CBSE school with the name Fr. Peter Mermier Pre-primary School under the leadership of the founder Fr. Pius Gonsalves. The school later got its name as St. John’s Public School in the year 2012.

The symbol of our patron St. John is the Eagle. This reminds of the fact that St. John took the teachings of Jesus to a new level of understanding, similarly we aim to empower our children to excel in every sphere of their lives.

The school has three houses represented by the colours: Red, Blue and Green into which each student is divided. The investiture ceremony every year appoints a new set of Student Council Members consisting of 28 members including the Head boy, head girl, vice head boy and vice head girl, house captains and various cabinet ministers who take up the responsibility to uphold the high values and standards of the school through various activities and duties assigned to them.
